Questions

Everything people ask us about training at Fightlab in Alma, Bukit Mertajam. Prices shown are today's.

Getting started

Do I need experience or to be fit to join?

No. Every class has beginners, and coaches adjust drills to your level. You get fit by training; you don't need to be fit first.

Can I try a class before I join?

Yes. Walk in for RM 30 a class (RM 35 for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu), with no membership needed.

What should I bring?

Comfortable training clothes, water and a towel. You train barefoot on the mats. Gloves can be rented at the gym for RM 5 a pair.

What age can I start?

Children can start from age 4 in Kids Muay Thai and ITF Taekwon-Do. Teenagers and adults of every age are welcome, and many people start in their 30s, 40s and beyond.

Are classes in English?

Classes are coached in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Do I need to sign anything?

Yes. Everyone signs our waiver once before training, online when you create your account or at the gym. A parent or guardian signs for children under 18.

Classes and booking

What classes do you teach?

Muay Thai, ITF Taekwon-Do, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Kids Muay Thai as group classes, plus 1-to-1 personal training and semi-private training for groups of 2 to 8.

How long is a class?

Group classes are 1 hour, and so are private and semi-private sessions.

How do I book a class?

Book online from the schedule once you have a package or free class. Booking opens 30 days ahead.

Can I cancel a booking?

Yes, from your account. Cancel at least 1 hour before class and the class goes back on your package. If we cancel a class, it always goes back on your package and we email you.

Is sparring compulsory?

No. Sparring is optional and always controlled, with protective gear and partners matched to your level. You can train purely for fitness.

Can parents book for their children?

Yes. Add your children to your account, then buy their packages, book their classes and check them in from your own login.

Memberships and prices

How much are group classes?

Monthly packages start at RM 95 a month, and longer packages cost less per month. A single walk-in class is RM 30.

Is there a registration fee?

New members pay a one-time RM 80 registration fee with their first group package. You won't pay it again when you renew, and registration is free with personal training.

What does 4 + 1 mean?

Four classes a month plus one bonus class: five classes every month.

When does my package start and end?

Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu packages run date to date: exactly a month from the day they start. Taekwondo packages follow calendar months, starting in the month of your first class, and each month's classes are for that month.

How can I pay?

On the website by online banking (FPX), or at the gym by cash or bank transfer.

Can I get a refund?

All fees are non-refundable and non-transferable, including unused classes, except where the law requires otherwise. If you paid by mistake or were charged twice, tell us within 14 days and we'll return the extra payment.

Do you offer personal training?

Yes. 1-to-1 sessions with the head coach are RM 140 each, with cheaper packs of 10, 15 or 20 sessions, for strength and conditioning, weight loss, muscle building or martial arts.
