Two martial arts for kids

Not sure which? Read Muay Thai or Taekwondo for kids?

What kids get from it

  • Fitness that's fun

An hour of running, kicking and pad work that kids look forward to, away from screens.

  • Focus and discipline

Short, clear drills, listening to the coach and waiting for their turn build attention and self-control.

  • Confidence

Learning a real skill and seeing progress, like a new belt in Taekwondo, builds self-belief.

  • Coordination

Balance, footwork and timing that help in every other sport and in the playground.

Where it can lead

Our student Nur Qaseh Diyani, 14, has won national and international gold medals in ITF Taekwon-Do in four years of training at Fightlab, and her school recognised her with its co-curricular award. Every champion starts as a beginner in a kids class.

Safe, supervised and parent-friendly

  • Close supervision

The coach leads every drill and groups children by age and size.

  • Technique before contact

Kids learn on pads first. Any sparring is light, controlled, in protective gear and never forced.

  • A signed waiver

A parent or guardian signs our waiver for each child before their first class, online or at the desk.

  • Parents in the loop

Book, pay and check in for your children from your own login, and get emails about their classes.

Parents: add your children to your account on the Family page, then buy packages, book classes and check in for the whole family from one login.

Common questions

What age can my child start martial arts at Fightlab?
From age 4, in both Kids Muay Thai and ITF Taekwon-Do. Young beginners start with footwork, basic strikes and games, and build up technique as they grow. No experience or fitness is needed.
Muay Thai or Taekwondo: which is better for my child?
Both build fitness, discipline and confidence. Taekwondo focuses on kicks, flexibility, patterns and belt gradings, which suits children who like clear goals. Muay Thai uses punches, kicks, knees and elbows on pads, and suits active kids who enjoy hitting pads. Many parents let their child try one class of each.
Is martial arts safe for young children?
Yes, when it's taught properly. Children train technique on pads and in drills under close supervision, with partners matched by age and size. Sparring is introduced gradually, always light and in protective gear.
How much are kids classes?
Kids classes use the same packages as adults, from RM 95 a month, or RM 30 for a single walk-in class. New members pay a one-time RM 80 registration fee with their first package.
What does my child need to bring?
Comfortable sportswear and water. Children train barefoot. Gloves can be rented at the gym for RM 5 a pair. For Taekwondo, ask the coach about a uniform (dobok) once your child joins.
Can I manage my children's classes from my account?
Yes. Add your children to your account, then buy their packages, book their classes and check them in from your own login, together with yours or separately. Emails about their classes come to you.
Are classes in English or Bahasa Malaysia?
Both. Our coaches teach in English and Bahasa Malaysia, and switch to whichever helps your child most.
